Andrew Mauney — Director

I began directing at the New Short Play Festival, where I brought my own short plays to life on stage. From the start, I was drawn to the collaborative process — working closely with other artists while shaping the production through my creative vision. That passion deepened when I completed ReelArc’s Director’s Incubator Program, where I had the opportunity to direct over fifty cinematic scenes spanning genres from drama to comedy, procedural to mockumentary.
 

It was through that experience that I truly fell in love with directing for the camera. I discovered how naturally my photographer’s eye complemented the process — collaborating with the DP to compose each shot and guiding actors to create fully realized, authentic characters.
 

Directing has become one of my greatest creative joys — a space where storytelling, visual artistry, and collaboration all come together.
